Dr. Brackstone created and became founding Medical Director for London’s multidisciplinary Breast Care Clinic from 2010 to present. In 2013, she also created the London Tumour Biobank as a biospecimen and patient data repository for translational research in collaboration with scientists across the region. She has designed and conducted a number of clinical trials and has developed the Breast Clinical Research Unit for this purpose. She sits on the breast cancer executive for the National Cancer Institute of Canada and Cancer Care Ontario and holds many national level grants. Her research interests include health outcomes, translational breast cancer research, neoadjuvant window of opportunity trials and locally advanced breast cancer. She is first author on a number of Cancer Care Ontario clinical guidelines in breast treatment. Dr. Brackstone was the first female surgeon at Western University to be promoted to the rank of Professor.
